Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival (YIDFF), which illustrates the current state of documentary cinema by collecting radical documentary works from around the world, has announced its Call for Entry 2009. It is accepting entries for the International Competition, featuring full-length documentaries from around the world, and the New Asia Currents, which introduces work from up-and-coming Asian filmmakers.

Held biannualy, the next YIDFF will be held from October 8th to 15th, 2009.
Deadline for applications: International Competition Dec 15, 2008 and April 10, 2009; New Currents: May 31, 2009.
